We Can't Do It Without You!

Theatre CBS is run on volunteer energy. We are a not-for-profit, community-based organization... and we rely on the support of patrons, sponsors and friends.

Supporting Theatre CBS with an advertisement, patronage or sponsorship has a direct impact on our ability to offer high-quality entertainment and artistic opportunities in Conception Bay South.

Manuels River is our Producing partner for the 2024 season.

With a vision to be a leader in connecting people with nature, Manuels River is a community-based organization supporting sustainability, growing minds, and wellness. This new relationship acknowledges the benefit of collaborating to support one another in achieving our individual goals, as well as to work collectively to build community in Conception Bay South.

This year, the Interpretation Centre at Manuels River plays host to our original production Duckish: The Ghost and Fairy Stories of Tom Dawe. We will also be presenting Fairytale Fun in the theatre at the Interpretation Centre and collaborating on an original piece for Manuels River to use as part of their programming.

The Town of Conception Bay South

Mayor Bent, the Councillors and the staff at the Town of Conception Bay South have been behind us since our inception. From offering us rehearsal space to loaning us essential equipment to promoting our opportunities and shows on their website and social media, the Town has been an important contributor and one of our Community Partners.

On March 27, 2023, Mayor Darrin Bent proclaimed World Theatre Day in C.B.S.

Whereas World Theatre Day is celebrated annually on March 27; and

Whereas theatre has been a popular form of art and entertainment from the time of the ancient Greeks; and

Whereas theatre is more than just a form of entertainment but also holds up a mirror to society, connects us to the perspectives of others and influences our understanding of ourselves; and

Whereas theatre, as described by the great playwright Oscar Wilde, “is the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being”; and

Whereas our lives are enriched by theatre, whether we are in the audience, on the stage, or behind the scenes; and

Whereas community theatre allows participants to harness their inner creativity, learn about themselves, build personal confidence, take risks and be an advocate for an array of differing voices;

Therefore I, Mayor Darrin Bent, do hereby proclaim March 27 as World Theatre Day in the Town of Conception Bay South.

The Kiwanis Club of Kelligrews

The Kiwanis Club of Kelligrews have been true supporters and friends of Theatre CBS. We are thankful for their in-kind contributions and proudly count them as one of our Community Partners. Find them on Facebook.

You can often find our cast rehearsing at the Club and we have produced two shows in their venue: Ageless and Barnyard Boogie!
